Hitchhiking in Japan: almost too easy

Trevor Mott observes that you almost never see hitchhikers in Japan. After an eventful journey starting in Oita, he offers an explanation for this phenomenon.

Wow. Backpacking around Japan. Sounds like the hip thing to do to explore tea country. I wonder if it could be done in China and I fear that there it might be a bit more difficult with more poverty. --Spirituality of Tea
